The A1 Assessors Award allows individuals with relevant vocational qualifications and current vocational experience to train as NVQ assessors in their own area of vocational expertise and in this way become actively involved in the on-the-job training of new employees and existing employees
What will I learn?
With your college A1 assessor's and your organisational countersigning assessor's help and guidance, you will take responsibility for preparing a portfolio which will provide evidence that you are able to assess NVQ candidates in your area of vocational expertise using a range of methods, for example, holistic direct observation, oral and written questioning, peer reports, inspection of settings, and accreditation of prior experience or achievement.
Your assessors are responsible for helping you identify opportunities to prove your competence and produce evidence that your work matches the appropriate NVQ standards. Your assessors, as qualified assessors, will also judge your performance and other evidence to check that it meets the national standards
