Apprenticeships

Develop your professional and personal skills in a friendly and supportive environment. The College's well qualified and experienced staff will work with you on a one to one or group basis ensuring that your individual learning needs are met and that you receive the support and guidance that you need to succeed.

Our experienced and friendly staff will help you:

  • establish what you want to do
  • establish what support you will need
  • highlight opportunities available to you
  • hold regular reviews with you to discuss the progress you are making
  • agree targets to help you achieve your full potential
  • help you overcome problems and deal with any concerns you may have
  • liaise with your employer to ensure they continue to support you throughout training

We pride ourselves on our success in helping young people achieve, and with our achievement rates way above the national averages, are in the top 10% of colleges.

Apprenticeships can help you get the skills and qualifications that are needed in the industry of your choice. Typically your apprenticeship will take between one and four years depending on your chosen vocational area.

Our NVQ assessors will visit you in your place of work. They will help you through your NVQ from start to finish, ensuring that you have all the skills needed to complete the work.

As an Apprentice you will also be able to enjoy student life at The Isle of Wight College, all our apprentices attend day release at College and receive tutor support to work towards their Technical Certificate, and Key Skills/Functional Skills qualifications.
You will have regular meetings with our Curriculum Support Officer throughout your programme to review targets and ensure you are on track.
