Animal Care

The animal management industry continues to grow and expand into new areas as concerns about animal welfare and conservation of endangered species remain on the political agenda. As even more people welcome pets into their homes the need for behaviourists, dog groomers and veterinary staff increases.

Working with animals can be extremely rewarding. You should have a real but unsentimental concern for the health and welfare of animals. An interest and understanding of science is useful. You will get to handle a wide range of animals competently and must be willing to deal with all aspects of animal care. A career in Animal Care suits those who are reliable, careful and responsible.

Not recommended for those with hair/fur allergies.
